Breathing new life into the estate lake

Our Story

Sevington was part of the Grittleton estate when it was taken over by Joseph Neeld back in1828 and over the years since, it has fallen into a very sorry state.  In late 2022 Sevington lakes has been under new ownership and a restoration plan began. With a fence erected to keep our fish safe from predation, our attention has been primarily kept on improving the habitat for the fish and all wildlife that lives around it. Opening up the banks to allow sunlight and wind flow is crucial in sustaining a thriving environment for a fishery! We have been planting many marginal plants and trees as well as creating wildflower areas. We’re building more than just a fishery — our goal is to create a welcoming, scenic escape where guests can enjoy great fishing, stay in comfort with loved ones, and take in everything this special lake and its landscape have to offer.
